UN Committee on World Food Security 2018 – IUNCBD attends as Observer

IUNCBD attended as accredited observer the FAO Committee on World Food Security (CFS) (Rome, 2018-10-15th/19th). CFS is the foremost inclusive international and intergovernmental platform for all stakeholders to work together to ensure food security and nutrition for all. CFS is the high body responsable for the IMPLEMENTATION of the Sustainable Development GOAL 2 on zero hungher, food security and agriculture. CFS reports to the UN General Assembly through the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) and to FAO Conference. Please follow the CFS: http://www.fao.org/cfs/home/en/
Among other issues, the following central elements in the IUNCBD mission are at the core of the CFS policy guidance and recommendations: Ending Hungher, Right to Food, Agrobiodiversity, Agroecology, Organic Agriculture, Small Holders and Family Farming, Underutilized Varieties, Biodiversity Value for Nutrition and Healthy Diet, Traditional Knowledge and Rural Systems, Traditional Diet, Sustainable Forestry, Fisheries and Aquaculture for Food Security and Nutrition.
